God Knows I’m Good | SdT 13.09.2020.

God Knows I’m Good

God Knows I’m Good ist ein Song von meinem geliebten Album “Space Oddity”

Eine arme alte Frau klaut in einem Laden eine Dose Eintopf. Als sie zur Tür geht, wird sie von einem Sicherheitsbeamten geschnappt. Sie schreit: "Gott weiß, dass ich gut bin!" und fällt auf den Boden.

Die Frau stiehlt vermutlich, weil sie es braucht, um zu überleben. Das Lied macht deutlich, dass diese Missetat gegen ihre Natur verstößt und sie sich dabei sehr unwohl fühlt.
Bowie lädt das Publikum ein, sich in ihre Notlage hineinzuversetzen und mit ihr zu sympathisieren. Die Gesellschaft wird zu ihrem Urteil eilen - für die einen ist sie nichts weiter als eine Diebin, für die anderen eine arme, unglückliche Seele, die eine Dose Steak gestohlen hat, um zu essen. Sie ist keine Kriminelle - sie ist arm, das heißt, sie ist ein Opfer der Umstände, und Gott weiß, dass sie gut ist - auch wenn einige Menschen anders denken.

Tolle Woche, @Petralpz, wieder mit viel Einsatz und Herz gestaltet, vielen Dank 🤗!

Der Song des Tages war auch mal auf meiner Liste, heißt also, ich mag ihn sehr. The Dame lässt kaum ein gutes Haar an dem Stück, das ärgert mich ein bisschen. Bowie soll in der Zeitung über eine Frau in den besten Jahren gelesen haben, die beim Ladendiebstahl erwischt worden war. Das inspirierte ihn, den Song aus ihrer Perspektive zu schreiben. Wenn man es möchte, ist es eine herrliche Vorlage für Interpretationen. Zu Gut und Böse, unserer ewigen Bewerterei, zu Eingefahrenheit und auch Frage, wie toleranz- bzw. akzeptanzbereit ist die Gesellschaft. Und wieder 'God' ... Gott weiß, dass ich gut bin...

Ui, den heutigen Song des Tages mag ich zwar auch sehr - aber mir fällt gerade auf, dass ich noch nie richtig auf den Text geachtet hatte  :o Ich wusste gar nicht, worum es darin geht.
Also wieder was gelernt ;)

Wird gleich angehört. Und ein Glück, dass es dazu nicht viel Tubie-Material gibt. Wir haben seit "Let's Dance" noch genug nachzuholen 😁

Dann freu ich mich auch mal auf die Misses ab morgen.

Und ich werde demnächst auch nochmal eine Woche zusammenstellen.
Entweder mit Favoriten von mir - oder, da diese wohl auch ein Cover enthalten werden, evtl. nochmal eine Woche nur mit Coverversionen und oder Cover/Collaborations...🤔
Da gibt es ja auch noch einige Perlen.

...dazu ein Gedanke: Hab mir heute morgen das Buch in deutscher Übersetzung bestellt und frage mich, ob es da so wörtlich übersetzt ist? So makaber es auch klingt, David wird die "beliebte" Methode der CO2-Vergiftung gemeint haben, schätze ich. Schaurige Translation, hoffe, das ist in dem Buch nicht grundsätzlich so...so, jz wieder sonnigere Gedanken...laufe mit Bowie At The Beep (Spotify) auf den Ohren durch die Botanik und sinniere darüber,  ob das Vinyl-Paket her muss. Eigentlich nicht ob, nur wann 😂🤣😂...

@Petralpz : Danke für die informative Woche. Die textliche Deutung von "God Knows I´m Good" war mir bis heute unbekannt und erstaunlicherweise hat die erzählte Geschichte nichts an Aktualität verloren. Heute auf dem Plattenteller, das Album "Space Oddity" in der 2019er Neuabmischung von Tony Visconty. Klingt toll!

Ja, den 2019 Mix hab ich auch gehört auf Spotify. :)

Aber irgendwie ist es kein Song den ich lange auf Repeat hören kann, daher ab und zu mal zwischendurch..und nachher im Auto ggf noch die drei Versionen im Mix, falls wir noch in die Stadt fahren sollten.
